Wittenborg to attend Higher School of Economics Partners Week in St Petersburg
The Higher School of Economics (HSE) International Partners Week is to be held May 14-16, 2018 in St. Petersburg. Wittenborg University will be attending,
According to Sergey Kadochnikov, Director of HSE St. Petersburg, “There will be a student fair, networking opportunities and, of course, the possibility to tour our campus and witness the latest HSE developments. As always, we will top it off with a diverse cultural programme, showcasing the vibrant city of St. Petersburg - the ‘Northern Venice’ and the ‘Cultural Capital of Russia’, UNESCO Heritage Site and recipient of the World Travel Award Europe.”
“Participation in Partners Week promises to be fruitful not only for universities who already collaborate with HSE - St. Petersburg, but also for universities who would like to foster new ties and who are, perhaps, considering HSE - St. Petersburg as a potential partner.
I hope that, over the three-day programme of discussions, meetings and cultural activities, you will take advantage of the excellent opportunities to get to know our campus, our other partners, the city and Russian culture, and that you will return home full of inspiration and new ideas.”
In 2018, the HSE International Partners Week (IPW) is themed ‘Universities: How to Be a Step Ahead’, in order to highlight the importance of international academic collaboration and share best practices in addressing the challenges of the ongoing ‘academic revolution’: massification, commercialization, digitalization and globalization of HE.
“The main idea behind IPW is to provide an overview of the recent achievements and development strategy of the Higher School of Economics, as well as general information on HE in Russia. We want to give attendees an insight into the current challenges and trends in the age of digital internationalisation. The programme will feature case studies of success stories – examples of how to stay a step ahead of the challenges. This will be complemented by our partners’ case studies, a student fair, networking opportunities and a diverse cultural programme. IPW participants will experience the marvellous city of St. Petersburg - a UNESCO Heritage site, recipient of the World Travel Europe Award and one of TripAdvisor’s Top 20 destinations.
IPW is part of the annual ‘Education and Global Cities’ international conference, this year entitled ‘Education and New Technologies of the Development: Global South’. It will take place at HSE St. Petersburg on May 17-18, 2018. Interested IPW participants are welcome to stay longer and listen to the international keynote speakers, attend plenary sessions and participate in the round tables across the conference programme.
IPW offers a range of networking opportunities. The event is designed especially for our colleagues dealing with internationalisation and partnership issues, for those working with International Offices, and for those managing outgoing mobility flows and student exchanges with Russia.”
