Summary

The Tour Experience Project focuses on enhancing the tourism sector by integrating innovative approaches such as XR (Extended Reality) technology and fostering collaboration between 21 partners, including TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) institutions, higher education institutions, SMEs, non-profits, and R&D centres. The initiative aims to provide students with practical learning opportunities and industry connections to prepare them for future challenges in tourism. 
 

Objectives

The project aims to:

  • Modernise and enhance Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the tourism sector through the integration of Extended Reality (XR) technologies. By leveraging Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR), the project seeks to:
  • Equip VET students with innovative digital skills to prepare them for the future of green tourism.
  • Enhance teachers’ digital competencies to integrate XR technology into their teaching methodologies.
  • Foster sustainable entrepreneurship by promoting eco-friendly tourism initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on XR experiences that improve learning quality and engagement.
  • Facilitate international cooperation and mobility to exchange best practices in sustainable tourism and digital learning. 
Implementation

To achieve these objectives, the project will implement the following activities:

  • Development of XR Modules – Creating immersive learning experiences tailored to sustainable tourism practices and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Teacher Training & Professional Development – Organizing workshops, training sessions, and webinars to improve educators’ ability to incorporate XR technology into their teaching.
  • International Mobilities – Facilitating exchanges for VET students and teachers to learn from different sustainable tourism approaches in partner countries.
  • Entrepreneurial & Green Skills Promotion – Encouraging students to integrate sustainability principles into their business ideas and tourism ventures.
  • Organisation of in-person international activities to promote cooperation and the exchange of best practices.
  • Promotion of the integration of sustainable development practices and environmental protection in the tourism sector

  • Creation of the TourXpeRience Pact for Skills in the tourism sector
