Summary

Green4ADU addresses the critical need to develop innovative educational initiatives aimed at low-skilled adults, focusing on green competences and sustainable approaches. In the context of the ongoing environmental challenges and the evolving labor market, this project seeks to create and promote concrete learning opportunities that enhance adults' awareness and wellbeing while equipping them with the transversal skills necessary for the green sector.

Objectives

The main aim of Green4ADU – A Green Learning Pathway for Enhancing Adult People’s Wellbeing and Awareness is to:

•    Highlight the necessity of developing new initiatives targeting low-skilled adults with a focus on green competences.
•    Create and promote innovative learning pathways that increase sensitivity and understanding of current environmental issues.
•    Equip adults with transversal skills required by the contemporary labor market, particularly in the green sector.

Implementation

To achieve these objectives, the project will implement the following activities:

•    Developing a Learning Pathway:
Create a comprehensive learning pathway addressing today’s most significant environmental challenges. This pathway will also include training on the current labor market needs and recruitment processes within the green sector.
•    Organising Local Workshops:
Conduct local workshops that integrate practical experiences with theoretical knowledge. These workshops aim to foster the development and enhancement of green and transversal skills among participants.
•    Drafting Recommendations:
Develop a set of recommendations for local authorities through the cooperation between low-skilled adults and adult educators. These recommendations will aim to improve dialogue and collaboration in adult education regarding green initiatives.

Results

The expected results and outcomes of the Green4ADU project include:

•    Learning Pathway Modules:
A structured series of modules addressing key environmental challenges, labor market demands, and recruitment processes in the green sector.
•    Practical Workshops:
Workshops that provide participants with practical knowledge and skills to reconnect with nature, achieve mind-body peace, and enhance their transversal skills.
•    Recommendations for Authorities:
A comprehensive set of recommendations designed to enhance dialogue and cooperation between citizens and local/regional authorities in the realm of adult education.

Impact and Long-term Benefits

Green4ADU aims to create a lasting impact by:
•    Enhancing the wellbeing and environmental awareness of adult learners.
