Sibylle Heilbrunn, PhD, Senior Lecturer, is a sociologist and professor, currently a full professor at Kinneret Academic College on the Sea of Galilee where she is Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. With a PhD in Organisational Sociology from the University of Haifa and extensive postgraduate studies in Business Administration from the Hebrew University, her academic journey spans several institutions in Israel and Europe.
Her career has involved significant contributions to the study of entrepreneurship, migration and social integration. Heilbrunn has held various academic and administrative positions, including Head of the MA Programme for Immigration and Social Integration at the Ruppin Academic Center and Head of the Kinneret Institute for Applied Ethics in Organisations.
Heilbrunn’s research interests focus on refugee and immigrant entrepreneurship and the sociology of organisations. She has been an active participant in numerous international conferences and has published in leading journals and books. Her notable works include the books 'The Dark Sides of the Start-up Nation: Winners and Losers of Technological Development' and 'Refugee Entrepreneurship: A Case-Based Topography'.
Outside academia, Heilbrunn serves on various professional and scientific boards. She is a member of the European Deans Council for Sustainable Development and has been an external expert for several EU programmes, including Erasmus+ and COST.
Heilbrunn’s teaching portfolio is diverse, covering courses in sociology, entrepreneurship and organisational behaviour across multiple universities. She has supervised numerous PhD and MA students, contributing significantly to the academic development of her field.
