Background

Petra De Weerd-Nederhof, PhD, member of the Advisory Board, is dean of the Science faculty of the Open Universiteit, an academic research institution which provides distance teaching on academic bachelor's and master's programmes for the Netherlands and Flanders. She holds the chair of Innovation of Technology Driven Ecosystems and (co-)supervises a number of PhD students. Next to being a member of Wittenborg’s Advisory board, she is also a board member of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and vice chair of the Network for Women Engineers as part of KIVI, the royal Dutch Association of Engineers. Before joining the Open Universiteit, De Weerd-Nederhof worked for more than 30 years at the University of Twente where she was a Professor of Organising Innovation, combined with roles such as department head, academic director Twente Graduate School, and educational director of the bachelor's and master's programmes in Business Administration. From 2003 to 2016 she was editor-in-chief of the academic journal 'Creativity and Innovation Management'.
