Meet Mahdi Abrar

Having always been interested in entrepreneurship and business management, Mahdi Abrar decided to move from his native Bangladesh to the Netherlands to expand his knowledge in these fields. “I chose Wittenborg because it is a truly multicultural business school located in the Netherlands, a beautiful and modern country with an emphasis on innovation and sustainability,” he says.  

Prior to starting his MBM degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Mahdi had completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at United International University in Bangladesh. In addition to English, he speaks Bengali and Hindi.  

By studying at Wittenborg, Mahdi was able to develop important competencies such as presentation skills, working in groups, writing academic papers and managing deadlines. “The best thing about Wittenborg is its multicultural environment, which includes students from all parts of the world. That broadened our horizons and enabled us to better understand and communicate with each other,” the graduate highlights. 

Now that he has completed his master’s programme, Mahdi is looking for jobs in startups, international organisations and sustainability-driven companies, in the fields of information technology, e-commerce and tech.  

His professional skills include content writing, SEO, graphic design, video editing, growth and monetisation of YouTube channels, website design, digital marketing and online market analysis. To keep updated professionally, Mahdi makes use of resources such as online courses, blogs, YouTube channels, news websites and research papers. 

When dealing with obstacles, he keeps focused on work and avoids unnecessary distractions. “I always try to give my best and learn from my previous mistakes, and I try to take the best approach during difficult times,” Mahdi emphasises.
