Meet Alina Rizvi

Alina Rizvi, a student at Wittenborg, is currently pursuing an MBA (Master of Business Administration) in Finance. With a strong background in banking, Alina is looking to bridge her practical experience with advanced financial theories and international best practices to further her career in the global financial sector.

Before coming to Wittenborg, Alina completed a Bachelor of Technology from Integral University in India. The decision to specialise in finance came naturally as she sought to enhance her knowledge and skills. “The finance specialisation aligned perfectly with my career goals, allowing me to bridge my practical experience in banking with advanced financial theories and international best practices,” she explains.

Alina chose Wittenborg because of its applied sciences focus, international learning environment, and flexible programmes. “The curriculum integrates real-world case studies, industry collaborations, and a hands-on approach, which is essential for professionals looking to enhance their strategic decision-making skills,” Alina shares.

With 10 years of experience in the banking industry, Alina has developed expertise in several key areas, including core and digital banking, risk management, compliance, agile methodology, and business analysis. Her experience in leading agile teams, overseeing regulatory compliance, and engaging with clients for process mapping and data analysis has helped her gain a deep understanding of financial services.

Alina’s ability to quickly adapt was tested when she was asked to lead the implementation of a new digital banking platform under a tight deadline. “This was outside my usual scope of work, which focused more on regulatory compliance and risk management. I quickly assessed the project requirements, collaborated closely with the IT teams, and learned on the go. It was a challenge, but I managed it well and delivered results,” she recalls.
