Jasmina Selimovic, PhD

Jasmina Selimovic, PhD, member of the Advisory Board, has been the chair of the Governing Board and Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina since January 2024. She graduated from the School of Economics and Business at the University of Sarajevo and completed postgraduate studies in Business Economics, specialising in Actuarial Science and Insurance. She prepared her PhD in the field of actuarial science in the United States and defended it at the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo.

Since 2004, she has been engaged at the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo in the Departments of Finance and Quantitative Economics, where she teaches as a full professor. She has served as Deputy Head of the Department of Finance and Vice Dean for Teaching and International Cooperation, and in 2018, she was elected Dean of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Sarajevo. In 2022, she renewed her four-year mandate.

She is a member of several professional associations in the country and abroad. She is active in global organisations for the accreditation of business schools and universities (AACSB and EFMD) and also serves as an international accreditation expert at quality assurance agencies in EU countries. She chairs the AACSB European Advisory Council. From 2011 to 2015, she was a member of the Advisory Group of the Fiscal Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a representative of the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH. Since 2018, she has been an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Raiffeisen Bank BiH. From 2021 to 2024, she served as President of the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton.

Jasmina is the author and co-author of several books and monograph chapters, as well as numerous scientific and professional articles. She is a licensed permanent court expert in the field of economics, a certified internal auditor for banks and financial institutions, and a certified actuary.
