Background

Erik Devos, PhD, is a member of the Advisory Board. He received his doctorate in Finance from Binghamton University, US, after obtaining his MSc in Financial Economics from Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Devos has worked as an assistant accountant in the Netherlands and held academic appointments at Ohio University, US, and at the University of Texas at El Passo's College of Business Administration. He is currently Senior Associate Dean, Professor of Finance, and Academic Director of the Banking and Financial Institutions Academy, as well as Director of the Risk Management Programme and Academy. Devos holds the Charles R. and Dorothy S. Carter Chair in Business Administration.

His real estate research interests are mainly related to REITs, and he has published in journals such as Real Estate Economics and the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. In addition, he has published corporate finance-related papers in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Financial Management. Dr Devos was co-editor of the Journal of Financial Research and Associate Editor of Financial Review. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Real Estate Research and the International Review of Financial Analysis
