Wittenborg Welcomes More than 50 New Students for February Block
New Members of the Wittenborg Family to Be Based in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam and Munich
Despite the cold temperatures typical of this time of the year in the Netherlands and Germany, more than 50 new students were warmly welcomed by Wittenborg at the start of the school’s February block. The institution has six intakes per year, and the next ones will be in April, May, August, October and December.
The new members of the Wittenborg family will be based at the institution’s study locations in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam and Munich. In line with the school’s strong focus on internationalisation, they come from 20 countries located in different regions of the world: Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Iran, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mozambique, Nigeria, Morocco, United States, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Russia.
From 5 to 9 February, the school conducted its traditional Introduction Week, including sessions on various topics such as Wittenborg’s infrastructure, facilities and online systems. The activities also addressed life and culture in the Netherlands and Germany (for those students who will be studying in Munich) and how to handle immigration procedures, as well as tips related to internships, careers and professional life.
The Introduction Week was concluded with an Introductory Lunch at all of Wittenborg’s study locations on 9 February, during which students and staff had the opportunity to socialise, enjoy some tasty food together and make new friends.
Nigerian MBM (Master of Business Management) student Eniola Sofolahan, specialising in Digital Marketing & Communication, arrived in the Netherlands eight days previously. “I’ve had a great time so far, and I like the people here because they are friendly and approachable. Even if you don’t speak Dutch, it is easy to just walk up to someone and ask them questions, and if they know the answers, they will help you out.”
Among other reasons, Sofolahan says that she chose Wittenborg because she had heard it is a high-quality, double-accredited business school, with a vibrant international community. During the Introduction Week, she learned that the Wittenborg community is very strong, and always ready to help its members.
“I learned that you can approach basically anyone if you have any questions, especially the front desk, because they’re always there for you. We have also been informed about the part-time jobs available, and the processes that we have to go through in order to obtain one. On top of that, the school makes settling down in the Netherlands much easier by communicating with the immigration services about things like obtaining your BSN (Citizen Service Number) and your student visa. All in all, Wittenborg is a great choice for anyone who is looking for a good business school and doesn’t want any hassle, hiccups or struggle,” she pointed out.
Senior Lecturer and BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) Programme Coordinator George Bosire wished all the new students the best of luck in this new journey, advising them to focus on their studies and get their priorities right. “It is important that they maintain the balance between their studies and other aspects of their lives. By doing so, they will be healthy individuals who are able to achieve their goals while also enjoying student life.”
