Wittenborg Participates in ICEF Higher Education Fair in Barcelona
School Represented by Corporate Relations Manager Iryna Bernatska
Between 10 and 12 September, Wittenborg Corporate Relations Manager Iryna Bernatska represented the business school at the 2022 edition of the ICEF Higher Education fair, hosted by the Hilton Barcelona Hotel in Spain. Organised by International Consultants for Education and Fairs, the networking event gathered student agents from different regions of the world and was focused on the recruitment of students within the international higher education sector.
In total, Bernatska conducted 35 in-person meetings with agents from multiple countries, including Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, India, Iraq, Bangladesh, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Ghana, Martinique, Norway, Italy, Serbia, Pakistan, Latvia and Albania. Additionally, Wittenborg International Partnership Assistant Olawale Olukunga, who was in the Netherlands, organised six online meetings.
Apart from the networking activities, the first day of the event was filled with seminars that gave educators and agents the chance to learn about specific markets, student behaviour after COVID-19 and new developments in international marketing, among other topics.
Bernatska highlighted that being able to meet other representatives in person was a great experience, adding that 95% of the people she met were completely new to her. “The event was organised in a way that all the activities, lunches, coffee breaks and dinners included everyone, so that it gave you the opportunity to get to know other agents who you had not met with. On top of that, we had delicious Spanish food and the weather was great, and these were the best extras. Overall, I was excited to meet new partners and honoured to represent Wittenborg. With the help of our international partners, we bring new students to Wittenborg, and studying abroad is a life-changing experience for the majority of them.”
