Wittenborg has just launched the website for the first edition of its Annual Globalisation Conference, which will take place from 14 to 16 August 2024 in Apeldoorn. Targeted at diverse audiences, such as academics, professionals, policy makers and students, the event aims to facilitate vibrant discussions and debates on the complexities of our ever-evolving, interconnected and global landscape.
Registrations will be open from 15 December to 1 August, via this link, while participants are invited to submit papers and posters between 15 December and 1 April (click here to check the submission guidelines).
The works submitted must be aligned with one of the conference’s 10 key themes: The Digital Revolution, Global Trade and Economics, Cultural Exchange in a Globalised World, Migration Patterns, Environmental Challenges, Global Governance and Policy, The Future of Work, Ethics and Globalisation, Global Health and Pandemics and Education in a Globalised Era.
Highlights of the Conference
The Annual Globalisation Conference is not just an academic exercise; it is a multifaceted exploration of the myriad ways in which globalisation impacts our lives, societies and the world at large. The event will feature a robust interdisciplinary dialogue, including panel sessions with renowned experts and keynote speeches delivered by thought leaders.
There will be ample opportunities for networking, enabling participants to connect with like-minded individuals, establish professional relationships and collaborate on future projects. Moreover, cultural exchange sessions will celebrate the richness of diversity brought about by globalisation, including cultural performances, exhibitions and discussions on cultural identity and exchange.
Wittenborg president Peter Birdsall invites the academic and professional communities to participate, highlighting the transformative character of the event. According to him, in a world that is constantly changing and evolving towards interconnection, it is fundamental to discuss the opportunities and challenges regarding globalisation.
“This event is connected to Wittenborg's Strategic Plan, its Mission and Vision, supported by the three values of Internationalisation, Diversity and Ethics. In our mission we have highlighted Globalisation as the overarching theme, which is expressed in the 10 sub-themes that we have set out for the conference. We are looking forward to hosting the first edition of the Annual Globalisation Conference, and we are certain that this will be a very inspiring, insightful and exciting event for all participants,” he stressed.
