Neha Basnet, PhD, obtained her doctor of philosophy degree and defended her thesis, Young rural-urban migrants' transition from education to work in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2022. Using qualitative longitudinal research methods in conjunction with timeline mapping exercises, she studied young rural-urban migrants working at call centres and their transition from education to work in Kathmandu, Nepal. She holds a master's degree in Development Studies with a specialisation in Human Rights from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University of Rotterdam. She has worked with young people, youth based organisations and conducted research focused on young people for many years, building their capacities for effective leadership and participation.
