Do you have a passion for managing campus facilities, student accommodation, and office spaces? We are looking for a Facility & Contract Manager to oversee and optimise the management of campus buildings, offices, and student accommodation in Apeldoorn.


Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality and functionality of campus buildings, office spaces, and student accommodation.
  • Oversee workflows for room allocation, student check-ins and check-outs, especially during peak periods (6 times per year, lasting 3–4 weeks).
  • Coordinate and oversee small repairs, cleaning, and maintenance tasks, utilising internal staff or external contractors, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.
  • Adopt a preventive, systematic approach to facilities management, promoting teamwork and accountability among involved parties.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, handle check-ins and check-outs, and ensure a strong on-the-ground presence when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, oversee administrative processes related to housing and facilities, and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify issues and propose maintenance and facility improvement plans to the Executive Board with confidence and accuracy.
  • Manage contracts with external service providers, including cleaners, builders, and installation specialists, ensuring clarity, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as a decision-maker, demonstrating strong leadership and clear communication at both strategic and operational levels.
     

Requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor-level qualifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Dutch communication skills are a plus.
  • Strong administrative skills and experience handling contracts, invoices, and service agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and experience working with database systems to manage records and reports.
  • Willingness to assist with hands-on, manual work around the campus and student accommodation.
  • Familiarity with building materials, maintenance processes, and pricing structures.
  • Proven experience in facilities management, housing, or building maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, prioritise and plan ahead.
  • Ability to lead and provide clear instructions to internal teams and external contractors.
  • Based in the Netherlands, preferably near Apeldoorn.
  • Valid driver’s license (B) and willingness to drive the Wittenborg van as needed.
