Wittenborg CEO Maggie Feng Shares Experience of Spoorstraat Development with Apeldoorn City Council
The CEO of WUAS, Maggie Feng, joined the Mayor of Apeldoorn, John Berends, and other members of the city council, when they toured the city centre this week, stopping at the newly developed education hub near the railway station where Wittenborg is also located.
Wittenborg opened its new Spoorstraat building in September, 2015, situated next to the Fotovakschool and Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Apeldoorn is proud to have a visible location for higher education institutes around the train station. The development was facilitated by the city council by making certain adaptions to the public space in the area.
The project leader, Huub Selen, gave more information about the development to the group, while Feng gave her perspective on Wittenborg’s experience of the first year being situated in the area.
Feng told the group: “We are happy to be together with fellow colleagues. The development of this area has brought young faces into the foreground, you can see them chilling outside right next door to the railway. You can almost call it a facelift for the image of Apeldoorn, and we believe this will attract more students and even more institutions.”
More development in the area around the railway station is underway.
