Meet Gamze Kiziltan

Wittenborg student Gamze Kiziltan's academic and professional journey has been marked by international experiences that have enriched her background. Originally from Turkey, Gamze is fluent in four languages: Turkish, English, Portuguese and Spanish.  

Having completed a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, she is now studying for an MBA with a specialisation in International Management. 

Gamze explains that her decision to study in the Netherlands was motivated by the semester she spent as an Erasmus exchange student at Tilburg University in 2015. “I always knew I wanted to come back to the Netherlands for a master's degree after working for a few years, so Wittenborg’s hands-on approach was perfect for me.” 

In addition to pursuing her programme, Gamze is actively seeking opportunities with global organisations where she can lead teams and manage marketing and expansion projects, leveraging her skills and multilingual abilities. 

The student highlights that her previous professional experience in global roles has allowed her to develop key competencies in account management, customer service and project management. 

Gamze adds that communication is crucial when dealing with challenges. “I always seek mentorship from my managers and peers, and I prioritise expressing myself clearly to address the situation directly. My method consists of assessing the case and determining how I need to adapt.” 

Her main competencies include cultural empathy, a can-do attitude, problem-solving skills and reliability. Additionally, Gamze is known by her friends as an extrovert, active and curious person, as well as a good planner.
